Farmall (CaseIH) DX22(E) DX23 prices?

My dad may have just won a DX22E in a radio contest.

Anyhow, he called me today and was asking if I knew anything about these tractors. All he knew for sure was that it was about a 22hp diesel, FEL, and mower deck.

Could someone post some values these tractors sell for?

DX22E (I think this is probably what he won)

DX23 I don't think this one is likely... But knowing what they sell for too won't hurt.

Any rate, he will need some actual values the tractor setup sells for to pay taxes on it (otherwise IRS will try taxing based on List).

After the dust settles with this, he's looking to sell it the tractor and use what money is left after tax and buy something more appropriate for his farm. Hmmm. I wonder if IRS would settle for tax based on what he can sell it for....

On another note... What a pain for someone that is cash strapped to win something... Then, they have to sell it to pay the taxes.

Well, he did win a DX22E with 54"MMM.

Value == $10,600

1. No Sales tax. He's a farmer. So, its a farm tractor.

2. His accountant informed him that the taxes on the "income" would be minimal. Hes had enough loss on farm stuff that would let him write off the income. Besides, it would fall under "gift" tax category which is taxed at a lower rate.

First new tractor he's had in 50years.
