farmall super c

I have been looking for a tractor for working my garden, getting to old to fight the tiller . I have a 484 but I think the tires may be to wide for the bean rows. Been looking for Farmall H or super c, and know next to nothing about either . From what I have seen at sales and such the none of the c's have a hydraulic lift, is that right? I have a cultivator that will work only it needs to have a lift. Any advice?

My C has the hyds and small arms on the sides of the tractor.

I also fabbed up a light duty 3pt hitch to lift a rear cultivator.

I would like a Super c or a C but rarely do you see one for sale in my area. There is a auction near here next week with 3 H,s listed. An H sold at a sale I went to yesterday for $500. Before the sale I was looking at it and the owner said it ran great, all I had to do was pull out the plugs and add some penetrating oil to unstick the engine and it would be fine. I had to pass.

That sure looks like my old C, right down to the GM alternator.....I sold mine in 2012 to a guy from Owen Sound,ON.

This one didn't even have an alt when I got it, just a rigged up pulley and no battery either, leaked oil out the missing crank seal about a quart a minute... But I got her cheap, was a fun project even counting breaking the 75$crank pully it to replace the 5$ seal

When I got mine the guy I got it from said that you work it until noon, shut it off and when you start up after lunch add about a gallon of water to it and work for the rest of the day....All on about 5 gallons of gas.
I checked out the cooling system and loaded it up with 50/50 E-glycol and water and it never used any coolant after that. It was a good little machine.

If you can find one with Fast Hitch, you can get tongs to fit in the 2 receivers, and add a top link mount, which usually comes as a kit, to convert to a 3 pt hitch system that's not exactly perfect, but does work.

Here is one, maybe further than you care to travel, or more then you want to spend, but includes tractor, and implements. 1957 farmall super C with implements Doesn't say if it's Fast Hitch though, but apparently does need some work. Mounted implements take an hour or so to mount. And the cultivators can take fingers off, as there are many pinch points.

I have 2 Super C's with Fast Hitch, and more then several FH implements. Just a pretty handy set up. Implements can be hard to find, and expensive at times. Other times, they can be useless to others that don't have it., and come cheap. Just need to be in the right place, at the right time.

You can also look for 200's, and 230's.

I have 1951 super c, run regular gas in her does just fine.
