Here is a picture of a L35 and the way it comes new. The only difference in the USED one I am looking at is 1200 hours... a Clamshell Bucket and two extra different size backhoe buckets. I will post the specs next.

Jim, anyone who fears the purchase of a "second tier" Mahindra or Kioti likely has no experience or knowledge of those machines. You are far more likely to get burned purchasing a used name brand tractor with a 30 day warranty than you are a Mahindra or Kioti with a 3 year warranty.

I certainly wouldn't lump the Mahindra and Kioti machines in with the gray market tractors. You are comparing tractors supported by a dealer network, factory parts and distribution on the parts of Kioti and Mahindra to a tractor supported by a single dealer with a limited potential for parts when you buy gray market machines.

The dealer I purchased my Mahindra from also sells Massey Ferguson tractors. His personal tractor is a Mahindra. He has sold hundreds of Mahindras, he told me he not only has never had Mahindra turn down a warranty request, but they have provided warranty work on some things that have not been under warranty any longer. In addition to my dealer being able to provide parts I can get any Mahindra part I need from one of the many Mahindra dealers that post here at TBN. That is a tremendous difference from the gray market machines.

The Farmtrac is a nice machine, but seems somewhat small ergonomically to me.

The John Deere 5105 is a nice machine. If you can do without the MFWD you may want to consider a 5103 or a 5303 John Deere. They will be more than enough machine to do what you want, but are value priced.

That is why I posted the info on the Kubota. I am very careful now... about what I will purchase next. I do like the equipment that the Kubota comes with because it makes it more usable in what I am doing and as well I could make extra money with it.

The 5105 does have 4X4.. I omitted that info but I have corrected it. I will be looking at the Mahindra's at Powell Brothers Tractor tomorrow. I just can't see the same price in a Mahindra as he wants for the New Holland. If I ever need to sale it I know it will not bring as much. You have to realize... once you are burned... you are very careful getting close to that stove again. If what I am doing in my project gets bigger I may want a larger tractor while I add another 5 acres to my project. The name brand would sell quicker or get better trade in value if I needed to upgrade.

Jim,
I could only speak for the New jersey area, but Kioti's and Mahindra's do sell for alot in this State used. You need to compare apples to apples. I like you was looking at just the big three. KUBOTA, JD, NH. I posted hear and other sites for advice people recommend other brands such as Kioti, Mahindra, Massy. I look at about 12 different tractors in my search and ended up buying a CK30hst loader backhoe. For my needs it was the best tractor. Also the Kioti was 2500 less then Kubota and 3000 less then JD. Also the Kioti had a few more features. As I read posts hear the prices are much different from state to state. My dealler has treated me very well and has a hugh shop. I hope this helps you. I would stay away from used after what you been threw.

I believe kIOTICK30 has more than clearly expressed his overwhelming bias for Kioti tractors for all to see. There has been numerous times that the "facts" he presented on the price difference has been proven to be a wee bit incorrect. I would view the opinions of others with considerable more experience with more weight as they are not as brand biased and do have experience.

Should I fax my qoutes? Better yet I'll post them when I get home.

I don't know who you are or what your point is. Unless, of course, you have been tossed off of this site and are now posting under a new screen name to get back on. Otherwise, your post makes no sense to me. I don't believe it is exactly appropriate to have multiple screen names anyway.

What is the point? It might only prove that you are incapable of negotiating with some dealers but you stumbled across a dealer that is selling cheap? Its been proven many times that some brands are slightly cheaper than others in some areas, in other areas they are much cheaper, and in some areas they are more expensive. All those things have also been disproven numerous times.

To Jim's problem, he is trying to produce food for people who need it and people are counting on him. I think his best bet would be to find a reliable machine in his price range, new or used, with a dealer and parts supply to back him up. We can all argue over silly things like brands but the fact is he has people that he grows food for and he needs a machine and needs it now. If he found a great deal, then he should take it. It never ceases to amaze me that some people just put their brand over the real issues because they got their tractor a few months ago and think it is the best thing since the invention of sliced bread. Get over it.
