Farmtrac 555 stearin issues.

I have a Farmtrac 555 2wd and the steering wheel turns pretty freely with NO action with the wheels. I had the somewhat leaky cylinder on the front end rebuilt, but, alas, no difference! HELP! I can lift the front end up with my loader and turn the wheels but they will flop all the way to one side or the other without any middle ground. makes it pretty hard to put out hay this time of year!!
Seems there is maybe a problem with the orbital steering system, or maybe a stuck valve or dirty screen or filter? I am not an ace mechanic, but neither can I afford one! I can do projects if I understand what is going on. Any help out there would be greatly appreciated!

Does it have a dedicated pump for the steering or a single pump for everything with a flow divider valve for the steering?

Thanks for the answer! It has the flow divider (orbital?) for the steering. We think that maybe the system has cavitated. Any ideas on how to bleed the air out of this system and get it done quickly?

Ok, I've found a parts manual for your tractor so I could see how it's setup.

Looks like it has it's own pump/reservoir combo just for the steering, just like a Ford. Have you check the fluid level on that? Hydraulics are usually self bleeding by just cycling the valve or steering in your case back and forth a couple times, till it fills the cylinder and start moving.
