Bluechip, what about people that bought FT'S before they went into receivership, are those tractor warranties being honored by montana?

No-those tractors purchased prior to January 18, 2008 have no warranty.

From what I'm reading here that's a great tractor at a really great price. But you need to recognize the drama going on in the dealer and parts channels. FT's dealers got badly burned when the importer disappeared. In some cases they remain responsible to pay finance charges on tractors that may be unsalable under state warranty laws (because the parts channel disappeared).

I think presently some FT models are being retailed with full warranty and support; other models have parts available overseas but no recognized import channel.

To oversimplify, part of the great price you found is a discount for you to take responsibility for finding a maintenance and parts channel for your new tractor. Personally, I would go ahead with the purchase after doing my homework!

Have you seen the FarmTrac Troubles thread? That is mostly dealers discussing where they stand. It may be the most comprehensive description in existence describing the dealer situation. 1800 posts, near 200,000 views. I think it should be required reading for anyone before they lay down $20,000.
