FarmTrac Troubles

All this is nice, but are we any nearer a resolution as to what is going to happen to all those blue tractors, many of which just sat through another 20 inches of rain?

Not until the customers get off their tail and go to raising HECK with the politicians-----so that they can get their 3 million dollars from less than zero ----then public opinion will force the media and "ALL" Textron's Friends to report the Truth!!! Have you filled out a complaint yet. Four complaints out of Four Thousand injuries will not get the ball rolling!!! Dealers (all 290+)have you contacted "every" customer personally that has a FarmTrac and ask them to file a complaint--- each and everyone of them has been injured they just may not know it yet. If they are not willing to stand up for themselves no one---- I mean no one can help!!!!!

I just spent several hours reading over all the 1263 posts regarding Farmtrac troubles. What a ride these last 7 months that the employees, dealers and customers have been on! Flippin shame this whole thing has been! :(

Did you notice, perhaps, that the person who started this thread was a JD dealer and that the Farmtrac dealers knew nothing of this until after his post? That is the real sad part. Everybody knew before us.

I take it back. The saddest part is that all you have to do during a work day is reread this thread. You need to be making plenty much sales.

Self punishment I guess is what you call it by re-reading this whole thread, but I was looking for a key or a piece of a puzzle to try and understand what is happening! I guess you can tell what kind of day I had when I re-read 1263 posts and was never interrupted during the whole time. Sale??? Like SELL something to MAKE money. Don't know what that is these days!!!!
But we do have a job in right now for warranty work. And of course that is UNPAID warranty work for a customer that lost his warranty on the tractor he bought 11/27/07 right before Farmtrac closed. Probably cost us a grand or so out of our pocket-BUT the customer will be happy! :(
That is the important thing these days-make your loyal customers happy. Not their fault so why punish them. We did fill out a FTC complaint when he came in!!!!!!!!!!! :D

How long can you survive without making sales and paying what Escorts should be paying? If something doesn't change quickly will there be anyone for your customer to turn to come spring?

We are taking it day by day, literally. Can't survive on an oil change here and there. Only thing that does is gives food money-doesnt even scratch the surface in an attempt to pay the bills.
I understand that this is a complicated situation that Farmtrac has credited, but it is not the employees, dealers or customers fault.
Escort, LS Cable and SAME need to step up to the plate and honor their product-plain and simple!!!!!!!!!! If they want people to EVER, EVER, EVER buy their product again, do the right thing and honor your warranties.
Then there is the floorplan company that wants me to pay on their tractors-of forget it, lets not even go there............!

Kal:

Your pro-customer position is one of high integrity. There are still consumers who value that virtue. Hope every one of them finds your store and spends money copious bucks there.

Without being a dark cloud, it seems honor is a vaporous core value in today's business. University classes include "business ethics" in their curriculums. What a towering oxymoron; nice in theory, devoid in practicum.

To expect FNA, Escorts and TFCs exec to about-face into legitimate, righteous business persons after the previous multiple bludgeonings they've inflicted... Well... what's the likelihood of it? What's the motivation for change?
