Fatal logging crew accident - SC

I grew up in a small town (population 800) in western Maine. One of the men in the class one year ahead of me died in a logging accident. In the class one year behind me a gentlemen died in a wood mill by making contact with a large blade. Logging is an industrial operation and can be dangerous.

Speaking of which....Farming ain't the safest job I have ever done for sure. Even being carefull, I have made a few trips to the ER, spent a few days on my back, etc. As have a number of friends that farm here also. Several being killed over the years as well, mostly for bizarre or freak accidents in addition to the more common reasons. One neighbor was killed by a cow(not a bull as would be supposed) in his barn, a number have rolled off of the mountains here. And I don't even dare begin to mention the times I have been injured, admittedly most could have been avoided.
And OSHA doesn't visit here.

A word about Axe Men.....................
Enjoyable show to watch, as has been mentioned, educational as well, most of what I see, being what NOT to do! Frankly, no matter how much I was getting paid, I would not allow anyone to talk to me the way they so freely yell and scream and curse at each other.

Those two nimrods, known as S&S auqualogging are a train wreck in the making. I suspect you are right in saying that the producers have them on there for comic relief!.
I do however feel bad for the poor decent guy that tried to tow them off of the hwy into his shop, just to have them wreck into his truck! Not to also mention the guy running the florida operation as well. Sure hope that History channel has paid them well.

I can assure you that my father and I would never in a million years would speak to each other as they do. Even me being 50 years old,My butt would have been a grease spot if I ever cursed my pop like the young aquaboy does. But alas, tiss a shame, it's obvious, that neither one has the calming effect of a good woman in their lives......and who would be able to stand either of them anyway?.....lol.

Just hope they stay on long enough for us to see when the train wreck occures!

I enjoy watching all of those shows, having grown up around logging and equipment my entire life. I think it was The Northern Logger? magazine that counted 28 OSHA violations in the first episode of Axe Men alone. It's good entertainment, but I wouldn't treat anyone the way those guys treat their employees and each other.

Yelling is a sign of ignorance.

The way I enjoy the Axe Men is with the sound off...mute button.

I like the scenes and the scenery, and the equipment. But NONE of the dialogue that takes place. Listen a bit, and then just like many of the sports shows on ESPN now...shut the sound off.

It is all for show, and the reactions they can get from the viewers. IMO. :(

I would enjoy it more if s&s aqualoggers would be canned by there new "boss". He seems really not that impressed with the level of stupidity and no productivity. Mabe S & S stands for stupid and screaming. Discovery MUST pay something to cover the acts of Dumb & Dumber to the poor Florida logger. Again, S & S is a BIG BLACK EYE for the timber industry, Hollywood dramatics or not.
