Fatal tractor accident in NY

At 2:13 p.m., troopers were sent by Columbia County 911 to the intersection of Route 9 and Yates Road for the crash.

An International Harvester Farmall 1066 tractor was trying to cross Route 9 in a westerly direction from Yates Road. The tractor, driven Stuart M. Meisner, 67, of Hudson, failed to yield the right of way and was struck by a southbound International Harvester dump truck on Route 9, troopers said.

So sad. I wonder if he did not see the dump truck or if his brakes were not adequate to stop. Prayers for his family.

We just had a death of a local person too. He was operating a dozer and disturbed a hive of bees. He either fell off or jumped off the dozer and was run over by it. It sounds like there were lots of bees too. I knew him, good kid. Family also does tree service work and firewood.
