Cool pic. I wish I had Ags!!! Very cool. Oh well. I'm saving my money for a blade for this winter!

Bird, it doesn't seem that your missing anything. In fact, I had never thought of the second point you raise. Makes since.

Nice pic. Do you think those ags would tear the turf if I were mowing a lawn in 2wd? Will the dealer charge more for them?
Also, has anyone ever tried to dig a hole with the loader? I can do it with the bucket on a bobcat, but I'm not sure if the BX could. I'm sure it is mostly about weight, and traction.

Boner, hole digging depends on how big a hole you plan and the condition of the soil--yes it will dig but remember you are dealing with a small tractor so it can dig small holes, big holes might take a while.
Bar tires, cost should be same and I have a fescue lawn on clay base. It does not seem to be too bad on the grass as long as I stay off when wet. They really help with the loader and the boxblade you see way back on the end of my little BX.
Weight and traction--tires help a lot, weight is a problem with hard ground, the blade just skips due to insufficient weight, this even with the front wheels lifted clear of the ground but as I said, I have dug holes and peeled grass etc, just have to wait for wet conditions since my ground is so hard a nuclear blast would not dent it. I have a BX/FEL and my experience of about 10 hours using the loader is this - very productive for a large variety of purposes. Great for moving loose ground or even a bank of hard clay. I would say wrong machine for digging a hole.

Yeah. I'm not looking to buy the machine to dig holes, just trying to figure out all I can do to justify the extra $ for the FEL. I agree I could use it ...some. But not $2x00.00 worth. I really see it being used more with friends and family. Which is ok, but if I have to pay for it...you get the picture. I was hoping to be able to wash my hands of tractor work around here, and just be able to sit back and cut grass for another 10 years. I dont think that will be the case. I spent the past month chopping, grading, dragging, and planting grass seed. (which I finished last night.) THe rain last night showed me that I did a HORRIBLE job grading. My low spots are still there, if not worse. So it looks like my days of sitting on a tractor are not over. I cant understand how I spent 7 years here living in a mobile home, and all I needed for upkeep was a LT. Now that I put a house, shop, and concrete drive it seems like the dirt work is never done. Is this a reason to go out and spend 12K on a tractor? ...might just be a good excuse!
Thanks for all the input. -Ben

Yeah, me too. You can cut grass with a cute lil tractor (BX) but you can't move a bunch of cross ties or much else approaching hernia proportions, with a lawnmower.

Imagine the same picture but with 10 crossties per load and an OGB on sitting ontop. That's me a couple days ago unloading crossties with a L4610.

Ben: depends what u really need to do with machine.if all u need to do is cut lawn a really good LT is fine. i have both. an LT FOR CUTTING LAWN AND A B2400 for cutting fields, moving snow, pulling trees, moving dirt, etc. get what u like and can justify spending the$ on. but if u want my opinon? go bx.

I agree. I have alot of friends that see the back tires on the BX, and tell me that I will be limited as to the "tractor" work I'll be able to do. There maybe some truth to that, but #1 I dont NEED a tractor as much as I need a large mower, #2 if I bought a bigger tractor that would pull a finish mower, I would still need a lawn mower. I've all but decided on the BX. I believe I am going to stop there though. Was talking about the LA211 for a few days, but I dont think I can justify it. We started looking at the TG, but for a little more, and a little more, and a little more, etc.
Today is the July 1st. KCC's interest rates were good until yesterday. I am anxious to see what they do now that rates have dropped a tad.
