Can't wait for 'Vanishing Point' to be available on DVD. I'm replacing my tape collection so I don't want to buy it on tape, and I'm getting tired of staying up til 1, 2am just to watch it.

I got the tape from Amazon for something like $8, that was pretty cheap...

I forgot... Did you know the car they crashed into the bulldozers was actually a Camaro? It had no engine; the engine compartment had been filled with movie explosives. It was towed by the 383/auto Challenger they used for the movie; they used a couple hundred feet of cable to tow the thing. They adjusted the Camaros front end toe-in and camber so it would follow the crown in the road.

Look at the end of the movie real close, in slo-mo. You'll see the distinc Camaro tail-lights. Also, the two web pages I linked in the other message, have pictures of the Camaro being set up for the "Crash".

I'd forgotten all about Vanishing Point until you mentioned it. Odd, too, because that's one I actually saw in the theatre as a first run movie.
