I think the Unforgiven is my favorite. Gene Hackman's role as the sheriff is great, the sight gags of his carpentry is something that some people didn't pick up.

There are so many that I like I cant name a favorite.
I can name my LEAST favorite and thats Heartbreak Ridge.
The shame of it is that I was an extra in Heartbreak Ridge, as were several of my friends. It was filmed in our camp at Camp Pendleton when I was in the Marine Corps. I met Clint and saw him several times during that summer. He and the rest of the crew ate at our chowhall pretty regular so it could be said that we "had lunch". I spent several evenings watching them film that movie when I had nothing else to do. Occationally they would need a few people as background or filler and they would ask for volunteers. It paid $80 a day to be an extra. I think Ive still got my Warner Bros check stubs someplace. There were a couple people in my unit that actually got speaking parts in the movie, that paid much better. I had my 21st birthday in the enlisted club that they filmed in and in the bar they filmed in.
Overall, it was interesting watching the movie being made but I thought the finished product should have been much better.
Clint seems like a nice enough guy, which is a good thing because he's freakin huge. He seemed old as dirt but was still very tall and muscular. The coolest guy in the movie was the leutinent. I cant remember the fellas name but he was interesting and funny to talk with.

Rayh's post pushed a memory button.
When my dad was in the USMC they filmed the Battle Cry movie. It was based on a book by Leon Uris. There is a scene when the camera passes over a group of marines that if you look real quick I can see my dad. He has all of about 1 second of camera time/Fame.
I need to find this on DVD and see if I can find him again.

I grew up watching his movies and always loved his westerns. As I got older, I sort of lost interest in them and haven't seen one in decades. Unforgiven was a suprise as I didn't know what to expect and thought it probably captured what it might have really been like back then.
Kellys Heroes is the only Clint Eastwood movie that I own. It's not just him, but just about every actor in that movie does an amazing job. Whoever directed it just did a fantastic job of telling a very fun story without relying on special effects. They all compliment each other and there isn't one dull, or boreing part of the movie. It just flows along and is fun the entire movie.
My favorite part of the movie is when Carrol O'Connor finds out they are behind enemy lines and starts yelling to find out what's happening.

I like the part where they finally talk the German tank commander into blasting the front door off the bank.
After he does, they stroll in, and....here come three or four other guys from a different direction than the door that was just blown off its hinges. What, was the screen door in the back unlatched or something?

I always liked one of the first movies he directed and acted in " The Eiger Sanction"

Seen em all, but "The Outlaw Josey Wales" is my fav.
"Well you gonna pull them pistol's or whistle Dixie?"
And Chief Dan George was at his best in this movie. Just excellent acting.
I have to admit that "Unforgiven" was excellent, also.
