Favorite Gloves?

   / Favorite Gloves? #11
I used to do production welding in a factory. If I was stick welding I would use thin deerskin type gloves. Tried all kinds. I prefer the short cuff regular work style glove, thin supple leather. I have these below from Sam's I use them for everything. Tillman Tig gloves are also pretty good. I value dexterity and ergonomics over heat abatement. Just keep you hand away from the fire!

For a lot of Mig welding where I had to have my hand down to guide, I would use a right hand like the picture below and what you would think of as a typical thick, long welding glove on my left. For just a little Mig, I would still wear a pair like below. But if you gotta have your hand by the fire you will get sparks down into the cuff, plan accordingly.

I have only run about 10 feet of bead with Tig and maybe a couple dozen yards of acetylene but for both I used gloves like below.
