Sorry about the first link not working. Apparently not all of it got underlined so you have to copy the whole thing and paste it into the address. Alternatively, you can go to Google search and type in Glock misfires. It is the third article down.

I am not trying to say anything bad about the Glock because I think they are great guns and at least half of the police departments in the country use them. I am just biased in favor of the small revolver. I have never had a misfire or jam with one. I like and own autos myself, but everyone I have ever owned or used extensively had either misfired or jammed at some time. Of course I have some age on me so that my experience with the newer autos is not as extensive as it is with some of the older guns.

I am just expressing my own preference and had wondered if others were concerned after reading the recent article. Apparently no one else is.

I happen to have a revolver myself /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Article is interesting and does raise some questions.

I am curious as to why Portalnd PD switched to the 9MM in Glock. Would of thought "issues" would of raised a "bad taste".

I too like them all. I carry a S&W 38 special hammerless with cookie cutters in it. God Bless the soul that ever gets hit with one of them. I prefer 22's for shooting off a lot of ammo.

38 ACP ... mostly for respect for the machine at the time it was made. Mine was a 1902 Sporting mfg in 1903. Ammo was hard to find at the time so I hand loaded 38 Super cases with the "starting" load for a Super. Wound up using 5 gr Unique or 3.5 gr Bullseye with a Hornady XTP 124 gr HP.

As far as interesting rounds go, I have to admit that I am a multi-ball fan. The attached pic is of a 44 Mag case, standard plasitc shot capsule, 4 precision flattened 00buck balls (@ 54 gr ea), 7 gr Bullseye powder. It throws about a 2' pattern at 50' and an appropriately impressive flame /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

I own several handguns given to me by my Uncle and Grandfather. I shot them all when I got them. I only have 2 that see regular use. One of them that I bought, the other I traded for, A S&W 38 revolver, on a K Frame, Pachmire Grips, Laser sight. At 50' I get consistent groups of 6 that look like 1 large dimple edged shot. I shoot 38+P ammo
The other is a Browning Hi-Power in .40 Cal with another set of the same laser sight on it. I don't shoot as well with it but at 50' I can get groups of 10 that are 2" across.
I prefer my 22 mag for small game and my 30.06 for larger game. for home protection I prefer my 12gauage Pump. I had to use it once. I racked the slide and the guy tore his leg on the broken window trying to get back out. The Police (County Sherriff and OHP) found him about 250 yards down the road on the way in. they had to call an ambulance, he was bleeding pretty badly.

I thought I would share my new Christmas gift from my wife. It is a Walther P-22 with a Holosight on a bridge mount. It is a fun pistol to shoot. I enjoy shooting it because of the price of ammo. I spend $9.00 dollars on 550 rounds for it and can shoot for weeks. On the other hand I can spend $24.00 on a box of 45 Long Colt which only has 50 rounds in it. I have reloading equipment and do reload but sometimes I just do not have the time. I enjoy the revolver too. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
