FBI makes a connection between long-haul truckers, serial killings

A truck and a truck driving job would sure make it easy for such things.

A sleeper cab is very private, no one knows what could be in those and no one can see either. The truck gives a good excuse to be about anywhere in the country at any time, it wouldn't look unusual or suspicious. I can sure see how a thinking/scheming serial killer, and I guess most are, would be attracted to truck driving as a means to an end. They sure wouldn't be the only ones using a job or activity as a cover.

Years ago I drove a lot for work, all hours of the day and night. I had a CB radio mostly for the entertainment value. I often passed near a big truck stop on I-280 outside Toledo. Just the stuff mentioned on the CB was enough to know just about anything could be found there--for a price of course. Not all big truck stops are like that though.

You guys are talking about a pretty good read with a character that lives on.

"When two girls disappear on a remote stretch of Montana road, former police investigator Cody Hoyt and his former rookie partner Cassie Dewell begin an investigation that will lead them into the hunting ground for a killer whose viciousness is outmatched only by his intelligence."

The Highway by C.J. Box

The killer is a OTR with a "custom" sleeper. There is no doubt this guy exists for real and if there is one there are more.
