While everyone west of us: NY, Vermont, NH, Maine, Eastern Ontario and parts of Quebec is getting snow, rain or both - we are getting 100mm of rain, 50+mph winds.

A few shots of local havoc... notice the girl on the sail boat...

Stay safe!

NSB,

Yup. The house looks great but the various owners have had nothing but problems over the years with leaky windows regardless of the manufacturer.

This years solution was to put plastic over the large palladian window and hold it in place with tuck tape and battens...

Great views though!

Yup. I checked on the road before dark. Lots of rock, sand, logs and bits of wharf debris and a few railroad ties. Road was almost impassable. I noticed a few dock floats floating in the water - obviously they were blown off the docks. Hind-site would have been to tie them fast... too late now.

Should be a good day. Any beach with a east - s'east exposure would hold many treasures.

Lloyd, I can't tell the gender of the person nor do I think they are "on" the boat. It looks like they are in the air to me. Wow! Nothing there is valuable enough to risk your life. I hope she escaped without injury.

It looks like the sailboat was blocked up and blew over. Is that what happened?

We got zero snow out of the storm the other night, but high winds and many downed trees. Power went out two nights ago and still out. Several roads are closed to through traffic and from what we have been told it might be the middle of the week before power is restored. Living in a town of less than 2200 people really doesn稚 rate high on the list of completing repairs. Today we got about a half a foot of wet heavy snow. I cannot blow so I have been pushing it around with the bucket. Life is sweet and spring is around the corner!

jimm,

You right. Actually he was on the boat an she was taking a pic of things... I thought it was the other way around LOL.

Looks like the jacks gave way on one side... Looks like a few scratches nothing serious. Will look closer tomorrow. Lucky it didn't flop the other way into the bay.

Wayneb. Been watching the weather net and they had forecasted 30" of snow for your area... good thing I don't pat too much attention to that particular network. We had a few power bumps but did not loose power. The kids and I lit lamps and candles last night in anticipation -even though we do have back up power... just fun!

Good Afternoon Lloyd,
Interesting pics ! Yes its a good thing that sailboat didnt go the other way ! :)

Being along the coastline out in some of those wind and rain storms, I can attest to the fact that staying dry is close to impossible ! ;)

Wayne,
Well if your without power, Im sure your genny is making the internet available, so as not to experience TBN withdrawl ! ;)

Scotty we got the power back on last night. Sort-of nice to watch TV without the generator background noise. The line crew was from your state and I spoke to one of the guys and he couldn't believe the number of people that have generators out here. His comment was it was difficult because none of the meters were turning.

Winds have died. Now the clean up begins. The snow is all gone and the yard work begins.
Most of my neighbours have generators so when the power does come on it is hard to tell.
I have a friend down the road who doesn't have one - I get him to call when he has power again.

We have an over-head fan and a light connected directly to the grid (Via a circuit breaker) so when the power comes on the fan turns so we know. Before that we went about three hours on the generator not knowing the power was back on!

I had a LED put above he transfer switch , I do have to look in the basement but at least I don't have to transfer the load to see if the power is back.
