We have a Fecon BH120 Head. Is it just us or does anybody else have problems keeping the debis chains on the rear of their Fecon? I am not sure if it is our operation and the type of work we are in or if this is common with these as we have fought with this as long as we have had this head. Any advice appreciated !!

Thanks.

How heavy are the links(if you know)?

Have you checked with your dealer about what grade of chain it is?

Perhaps a heavier grade of link chain (Hardox type) would be worth pursuing with your
ground conditions?

Crosby makes high grade chain connectors

Are the last links on the chains cross connected with barstock to maintain a curtain of chain?

Is this feconhead mounted on one of thier tracked units or an excavator boom?

Are you working/grinding from the top down with the head or the
bottom up when shredding to knock the scrub down first before you muclh it?

The original chains were 3/8s chain individually welled and no matter how much weld we put on that top chain link they break out of the weld and just disappear . I have noticed that it looks like Fecon is mounting then on a bar or rounndstock mount system of some kind now. The head is on a 421E Hydro-Ax Rubber Tired machine. We do a lot of carcus piles which is old Cedar trees that were dozed and piled years ago and that Cedar gets harder after twenty years in a pile. When we do live Cedar we start up high and work our way down.
Thanks.

About your shredder, I would see about
some surplus small anchor chain from a
ship scrapper and use that or purchase
some hardox grade chain.

you would be able to weld some heavy chain links
to the body and then use chain connecting links
to attach the chain sections to the mower.

Dear REK Ent
If you are able to send pictures of both the chain area of the BH120 and the material you are grinding to bmcmahan@fecon.com we will be happy to try to provide a solution for you.

Thank you,
