Well, here is my local price quote.

I want to buy locally. I think everyone wants that. I like to support the guys I live with. Local support, local business, etc. Just the right thing to do.

TC40DA HST
16 LA HD 72 inch bucket
Draft control
QA skid steer
Grill guard
AG tires
Block heater
Tooth bar
Arm rest
2 rear remotes
Reversible bolt on edge
Wheel weights (2 each wheel) 400 pounds total
Work light for rear

$ 25,200.00 plus tax

Okay, TBN is my tractor “family”. Tell me what you think. If you want to save me embarrassment, E-mail me. I would rather hear what you think now (trust me) before I spend the 25K rather than have my feelings not hurt only by not hearing from my TBN friends and live to regret not asking for feed back. Better to take a few shots to the ego now than later.

Bob, that's not a bad price considering all the options you are getting. I could sure live with that price, especially from a local dealer with a good reputation for customer service.

One question though...
Are you sure the toothbar and bolt-on cutting edge will fit on the bucket together? I had to take my bolt-on edge off because the toothbar would not seat properly. I'd even recommend you don't get the cutting edge. The toothbar adds all the strength you need to the bucket lip. I think you will find you will leave it on the bucket all the time. If you had two buckets, one with the toothbar and one with the cutter bar, that would make sense, but I think you are wasting $200 to get the cutter bar with the toothbar. When you deduct the cost of the cutter bar, you may end up at $24,995. That sounds a lot less than $25,200 even though it's not. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif Just my $.02 worth. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Bob maybe this will help you compare apples to apples.

TC-40D
SuperSteer axle
arm rests
17LA loader w/72" heavy duty bucket
QA loader attachment
48" pallet forks
757C Backhoe
Firebird Fiberglass Canopy
grill guard
6 rear wheel weights (300 pounds)
3 point weight bar w/full rack of cast iron weights (350 pounds)
prepped, delivered, w/full tank of diesel, on-site instruction, and yes I did buy locally.

$28,197.00

Bob even though there have been price increases since my purchase in 2003 I believe there is a bit of wiggle room on your pricing. IE: a SuperSteer axle is roughly $1500. pallet forks $1000. and a BH $7500. so you can deduct these off final pricing. However your comfort level should be the final denominator.

You are correct, the tooth bar and cutting edge will not fit at the same time. I was told to dig soil with the bucket, a tooth bar was the best way. If using the bucket for snow, grading, etc, the cutting edge was best. What do you think?

BTW, keep your $.02 coming my way. I can avoid making a mistake with your help.

Wow, I don't think 3 years later I could come even close to your 2003 price. How much wiggle room do you think exists in the price? If I just subtract the cost of your BH and SS, (9k) then your setup is in the 19K region. Adding 800 for 2 remotes and then subtracting 400 for the canopy makes it more like 19.4. For that kind of price difference (substantial difference), I should call your dealer, get a price and have it FOB to WI!

So, do me a favor /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
1) sell me your machine (you know I like it)
2) get me your dealers number so I can call and get a quote!!!

Call a few out of state dealers and get a few quotes. Then armed with prices go see your local boys.

I originally got prices from Corriher's and I figure it saved me more than a few $$$$. If you're to quick to give it up $$$$ to the local boys they will be all to happy to thank you for it. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif Make em work for it some.

Great minds think alike. I did exactly as you advise ( I am a very good TBN newbie) I got a quote from Corriher, then mentioned to my local guys that my local guys were 1800 more than Corriher. Price came down ASAP! Now back to business, what about you selling me your setup? How many hours? I know you keep it in good condition and that the TC40 drives real nice (love SS!). How about 28 K for the whole setup? /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Bob I'm glad that negotiations have saved you an extra $1800.00, as you found out prices aren't always as firm as one might think. I had a local try to get an extra 4K for the tractor equipped the very same as I have now. Guess I can't blame him for taking it if we would have been willing to give it up. /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

I have found through the years that the Internet can do great things for leveling the playing field when it comes to buying and selling.

Sorry but my rig just isn't for sale. I'm flattered that you want it but it's home is in our pole barn, besides once you finally order your new Class III you'll forget all about Blue Thunder.
