Deere 4310, Kubota L355, John Deere SST18 Spin Steer, 2006 Polaris Ranger
It is not often that I take my loader off the tractor. When I do I feel like I a driving some kind of stream lined Indy race car or something. I almost feel like setting up orange cones and seeing how fast the 4310 will slalom. Anybody else?

Absolutely... sorta like driving around a really BIG toy (not to say that some folks don't accuse me of that anyway!). But when I first took my loader off (just recently) and cut my grass, it sure felt funny! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I used to mow with a JD 318...when I take the loader off my 4210 (not too often these days) for mowing, if I wear dark shades and squint my eyes a little it feels like my older 318 on steroids.... /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Until I do something stupid, like drive under a tree with the ROPS up. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

I drop my loader off frequently. Very rarely mow with it on...

But I'll admit...without those two FEL uprights just forward, the tractor does seem to have lost a lot of mass. I can't use the term "wimpy", but that might be a good description.

I haven't taken the FEL off yet, but I had the backhoe on from the get-go and when I finally took it off, it worked much the same way. The tractor changed into a different machine. Felt very strange.

Cliff

Took the Backhoe off so I could fill the FEL and the ballast box with ice and Mt. Dew(proper color and all) and go on a ride-about around the Chicago suburbs driving really slow, wearing a straw hat, chewing on a long piece of grass and humming, "She thinks my tractor's sexy" while staring strait ahead and ignoring the horns and yells and police sirens.

It feels like a big riding mower on steroids. Just wish I had a MMM...Kyle

I've had my tractor for 4 years and I never took the loader off until this year. Now I take it off whenever I'm not using it. It is sooo much nicer working in the field mowing or doing hay work without the loader. The biggest thing is the bumps are only half as bad with the loader off. You don't get that extra jerk from having all that weight hanging off the front. And of course manuverability is much bettter.
