Has any one built a 3pt Feild cultivator out of danish shanks (S tines)? If so are gage wheels required or are you able to carry it with the tractor ok? How wide and how well are you able to pull it? Did you need to add weight? What ground conditions? I was given a 75" wide 3 row (bar) section of a old multi weeder so I have plenty of parts. Just the matter of how to set it up. My main use is loosening (sp?) and weeding sand volly ball courts and play grounds. There will be a small amount of ground prep for grass on a ocassional basis. Would use it on a B7610 Kubota with R4 tires. I'm thinking 55 to 60" with. Is that going to be too wide? Thanks

I have used a Danish tine cultivator a great deal. I think you should use the guage wheels. I also would like to see how you end up setting this up. I am looking for an old four row danish tine cultivator to convert to a two row. i think the 60 inch would be a good width also. Good luck and show us some pictures.

Here's a pic of my soil ripper that a friend with an old JD M gave to me. I designed a conversion to 3 ph that my friend bent and welded the metal for.

Used it on the garden and now plan to remove the chisel plows and mount 2 disc hillers 16" OD to the the 2x2 bar to make raised rows. Plan to use the mounting brackets on the chisel plows plus 4 more to mount the shanks of the disc hillers to the 2x2 bars.

I have a 6' one that I bought a 21' model at a auction and cut it down. worked great for a 30 to 35hp tractor. I bought a another to make a 8 footer for my new tractor. The 6' one will not cover my tracks, so I have a extra one.

Kaliburs, That is exactly what I am looking to build. less the rolling basket. Real nice unit. Thanks for the photo.

Kaliburz. where did you find that pic? I would love to build something similar for use in a garden. Our full size field cultivator is something like that but is too big to use to prep the garden. Thanks

Local company here makes it. Another in town makes one similar. The one pictured above is made by Blueline Manufacturing. The other company is Rankin Equipment. Both out of WA state.

Here's something from King Kutter....

Not exactly S tines, but close. It's their "cultivator"

Here is their "field cultivator"
