Thanks to all of you for the suggestions and pics of your solutions. You've given me something to think about and mull over which option will work best for me. The SpeeCo gizmo that Princess Auto used to sell is just what I was thinking of originally, but you've broadened my thinking!

I just lay out some 4x4's on the ground, secure them in the dirt with a couple pieces of rebar hammered through them. and use the FEL to slide the implements in the shed
