FEL and Backhoe removed and installed

On the Kioti backhoe the "long steel thing" stays on the backhoe i.e it comes off the tractor. On the Woods, the sub frame stays on the tractor as per Wallace's earlier post.

Thanks Gil, that finally has answered my question.

If I now understand it right the front of that frame goes unto brackets at the front of the tractor then it pins up to the tractor on that cross member looking piece.

I would like to everyone who has posted, you all have been very helpful. This website it a wealth of knowledge that has helped answer all of my questions and some things I did not know enough to ask

Thanks

Since I had to temporarily remove my backhoe to attach finish mower, I thought I'd get some pictures to help describe the BH removal process (at least the way I do it). Note that I put a concrete block under the BH. It just works better in my opinion, but be careful not to pinch hoses, etc.

1st picture shows the two pins removed.
2nd picture shows how I configure my BH to remove the BH weight from tractor
3rd picture shows how I've moved the tractor forward to clear the rear and front sub-frame mounts.
4th picture shows my BH setting on the ground after lowering, removing all pressure from ALL cylinders and disconnecting hyd hoses. Notice the sub-frame still attached to the BH.

Just bought a used CK30, and am trying to remove BH. The frame slid out about 1/2 inch but after trying for 30 minutes of slowly raising and lowering outriggers and also up and down with boom, I just can't get it to slide the last inch or so...any tricks? I was about to use a pry-bar on front mount, but don't want to mess anything up. Thanks, Scott

I have had those contact points between tractor subframe stick but it is really a matter of knowing which cylinder to move and which direction. It comes with practice. All the same, I take a brush and a bit of grease and brush those two front anchors on the tractor as well as the ones on the lead edge of the subframe on my Kioti backhie, If you to make a little more contact the surface slips off separating subframe from tractor much easier,

What really helps me is by setting the backhoe outriggers and bucket on furniture dollies. It lines right up for installation when you do that too. This works when on a cement floor as you can imagine but not so much on ground.

You may try lowering the bucket with some pressure on the ground and try swinging it left and right just a tad. If the sub-frame sides are binding on the mounts horizontally, this might release the pressure. With practice, you should be able to install or remove the BH in less than 10 minutes.

Well, thanks to you both, especially the idea of the furniture dollies. I went out and tried a few more times, then crawled underneath and guess what this rook found. The guy I bought it from had the drawbar with the 2 pins down and locked so the frame would slide out an inch, hit the forward drawbar pin and stop. Pulled the pins and came off like I knew what I was doing.(This is my first tractor and trying to make sense of the Kioti owner manuals is a bit daunting). Look forward to lots of help from all of you....thanks again Scott

Actually the real advantage of those furniture dollies comes into play when putting the backhoe back on the tractor. In addition to being able to easily align the backhoe and sub frame when it's time to put backhoe back on the tractor(which has to be perfectly aligned) it's also nice to be able to roll the backhoe and sub frame into the corner or out of the way over the Winter months when it's stored.

Those furniture dollies cost about $20 each at Home depot and are rated at 1000 lbs each, I take either a piece of 3/4 plywood or some hardwood boards and fill in the centers for a nice platform with plenty of room for backhoe buckets or outrigger pads. My 2465 Kioti backhoe weighs in at close to 2000 klbs. spreading the weight evenly should put about 500 lbs for each dolly.
