My FEL bleeds down in the dump position when it is not being used. I have tightened all the fittings and cannot find any leaks. The fluid level in the tank is ok. Any ideas anyone?
The unit works ok otherwise

One of the bucket dump cylinders is probably allowing fluid leak around the piston packing. It will need to be repaired or replaced. Or it could be the spool valve. How old is the loader ? If under warranty check with your dealer a certain amount of leakby in the cylinders is "normal" per most dealers.

Leak down is a normal situation. It will depend on the speed of leak, whether it should have anything done to it or not.

In one of the grapple threads Pineridge discussed double piloted check valves. This will keep the cylinders from leaking down through the valves.

A quick way to isolate the condition is to switch hoses from the bucket cylinders to the hoses for the lift cylinders. If the bucket still settles after switching hoses, the bucket cylinders are at fault and will have to be rebuilt. If the lift cylinders settle, the valve will be the culprit and will have to be rebuilt. Hope this helps. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
