I finally had a chance to try out the FEL mounted boom pole I made last month. It started as a hitch receiver to move trailers. I was able to move my 24' enclosed trailer with a tongue weight of about 1,000 lbs with ease, so I thought I would see what it was capable of a little further out.

The boom is 2x2x1/4 tube which I cambered about 2" then added a strongback and chain slot. The pole is chained from the midpoint back to a pair of bucket hooks.

Lifting height is about 16'. I'll gain a foot when the 300cx loader arrives this week.

I guess it's kind of a chicken and egg thing. Maybe when I sell it I won't need the boom pole! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Nice work, but a word of caution -- that rig fully raised will also put your tractor's center of gravity dramatically higher and make it much easier to tip. Don't ask how I know this. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

Nice job. Nice motor home too. At least that's what I think it is. Maybe it's a tractor trailer with a big sleeper.
