kubota grand L 4060
Hi, a little while back I was reading about brush mowers and in one of the post a company posted some info on a new implement they just came out with. It was a brush type mower that attached to the fel and was hydraulic if I remember right. It was green in color I believe and was able to mow horizontal and vertical to cut tree branches. Could any one point me to the thread, implement, or company who may produce it? I believe it went for around $2600 or so also. Again this is all off memory so some things ay not be completely accurate. If no one has any info on this particular piece are there any recommendations for others out there? I have a 2016 Kubota Grand L 4060 for compatibility purposes. Thank you very much in advance.

Yes, I bought one a few weeks ago. Their website is lanesharkusa.com. Haven't had a chance to try it out yet. It doesn't come with hoses because of the different ways people choose to attach them to hydraulics, so I'm getting them made now. I plan to run the hoses along the FEL to the rear remotes on mine.

I won't be able to try it out for another couple weeks, but it will get quite a bit of work as soon as I do get to use it. I started a post a while back about making something similar but the guys on the forum turned me onto this attachment. You can see that thread here: http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/build-yourself/377089-fel-mounted-tree-limb-trimmer.html

I intend to take plenty of before and after pictures and videos to show how it works out for me. I'll post them up either here or on the thread I started soon as I get to try it out. Looks very well made and sturdy enough. PM me if you have any questions, but I may not have many answers as to how well it works until I get to try it out.

Sounds great. I will actually be out of town for a few weeks for work so won't be biting the bullet for a little bit anyway. I will definatly look forward to your review. My tractor says it has a implement pump capacity of 9.4gpm and the web sight says 10gpm for maximum efficiency. Do you guys think I would have a problem with 9.4?

Before you spend your hard earned money you should give the folks at Iowa Farm Equipment about a Peruzzo boom mounted flail mower.

A Peruzzo or other rear boom mounted flail mower uses the rear power take off to power the flail mower and the rear remotes to move the flail mower to the side and up and down.

At worst you could invest in a boom mounted chainsaw brush cutter with a much lower hydraulic demand on your mule.
They have talked about the boom mounted chain saws in Farm Show for quite a while.

Go to the accessories page and click on the hydraulic limb saw.

The other thing is simply from a safety standpoint as a sheared limb can be thrown very far very quickly with no time to react

Here is another small manufacture building front mount mowers. Gee, we drove across MN this week and not far south from Cross Lake where they are located. I think I'll call them and ask if they could build one to go onto a FEL quick mount.

Morning Gents, I have a NH tc33da with FEL, bradco backhoe and finish belly mower.. I have 2 fieldstyle trails ( meaning no real large brush mostly high grass) that I mow paths through tohave access to my other property. I cut the paths a couple times a year to make access easier however. it is bruatlly hard on the finish mower to cut that super heavy grass ( not to mentionI keep the belly mower sharp and ready for mowing my large plot areas around house and barn ) and don't want to abuse the belly mower.
I have a brush hog 3 point now and wondered if there is a mower ( even self powered if needed) to attach to the FEL quick release to mow these paths...?

Any ideas? I don'thave any external hydraulics up front for accessories. but could add em if I needed to I guess.

Thanks foryour thoughts

Gosh, you have a brush hog (properly, generic Bush Hog) which would appear to be the perfect item for the task. Why not use that? Keep the speed down and mulch that grass to pulp.

Short of buying a motorized ACRE EASE towed rotary mower for heavy brush mowing you do not have many options other than a rear mounted flail mower that will mow everything for you.
