FEL Control Question

   / FEL Control Question #21
Filter is on the left side of the trans. When sitting on the tractor drop your left arm straight down and it will be in that area. Two bolts hold on a oblong plate. The filter is underneath this cover. There is a rubber,"o" ring That goes with this cover. Lots of trans/hyd fuild so drain this first. The screen/filter sets in horizontal to this cover. Will most likely be full of crud. New is under 20.00 I believe. Mine did not have enough fluid to flow every place with the restricted flow.

J.J.: Since the OP is new to tractors and hydraulics; how about sketching up a quick schematic diagram for him to get a better idea of what you are describing in your posts? It doesn't have to be CAD pretty; just something to make visualization easier.

Thanks,

Ok, I would like to thank everyone for their help trouble shooting the valve. The issue is there no power beyond adapter installed so the out port and pb are sharing the same plumbing.

The valve manufacturer is out of business and I'm having trouble tracking down the fitting/adapter. So I may just end up replacing the whole valve. What do I need to look for when shopping for a new controller?

Or, is there a way to 't' the line into the FEL control that would basically select power for the loader control or the 3 point hitch? I could just plug the pb port on the loader control in this scenario...

Have you told us the manufacturer of the valve?

#1 Find a PB sleeve for your valve.

If you cant find a PB adapter for the valve, you can do this, but is not recommended as you will be using the OUT port as the downstream supply, and cyl fluid dump.

The OUT port normally has a pressure rating for about 500 psi. Back pressure from the 3pt could raise it to 2500 psi.

#2 Plug the the PB port with a short plug so as to let the main galleries and the cyl fluid exit the out port.

Then feed the remotes or 3pt using the OUT fluid from the FEL valve.

#3 option, replace the FEL valve with something like this.

This is a 10 GPM joystick valve with float.

JJ, I've had my eye on one of the SurplusCenter joystick valves to replace the Victor brand FEL valve on a 79' Ford 1700 (possibly re-purposing the Victor for front/rear auxiliary ports). Is the Regen model something that would be worth the extra $50? Or would it be something that I might regret down the road?

Hey Neil , want to part that puppy out if your upgrading? I'd love to track down this part rather than upgrade...

Unfortunately mine doesn't have the PB port.
This is what mine looks like.

Your valve doesn't have load checks, you well not mess it.
