FEL curl keeps going

I was putting up the tractor last week and noticed when I let go of the joystick, the bucket kept dumping. Is there a spring that makes the stick go back to neutral position when you let go, or is it hydraulics? Does this mean the control valve has a problem?

They are spring loaded. Mine always returns to centre unless the float detent sticks. The float detents are the cap shaped thingys bolted to the back of the control valve block. They are right in the centre of the pic attached. (Yours will probably look different). You can remove the caps and clean them up but watch out for tiny springs or balls when you take them off.

Thanks, I'm out of town, but I will check that out when I get back home. I was hoping it would be a spring, but there is a part of the steel housing for the FEL that covers up the valve where you can't see whats going on in there.

Alan, before taking it a part try some WD 40. I have had my stick and a little spray loosened things right up.

Yes! Or penetrating oil. I've had mine stick on the M5040 twice now. I'm disappointed that Kubota doesn't have a better setup on the joystick. I never had such a problem on my older M4700, but the M5040 has been doing this and it's only a year old and stored in the barn.

Spray the oil on the little plungers inside the boot on joystick.

Don't know if there is a similarity in design but just for information.

On the Kubota B7100 I wore out three joysticks. Toward the end they get sloppy and need a lot distance to work. Also there were a few times a mechanical connection came loose inside the steel cover. It was always easy to reconnect it.

Also took the cover off and put in lots of grease on the visible moving parts.

I had a similar problem on my BX22. All the holes had went oblong and it would bind when I went to dump the bucket.

Not sure what the B27xx controls look like but I've attached a picture of the LA210 loader value controls for the BX22. I ended up drilling the holes that pin 130 go through, including the joystick, to the next bigger size pin. And I replaced bushing 20. Everything was as good as new for $5 or so.
