Hi All,

This may be a stupid question but: How do I get my BX2370 into "Float" mode without lifting the machine off the ground?

I know that to enter float mode, I just push the Hydraulic Valve up beyond the detent, but to do that I either have to raise the front wheels off the ground and slam the machine back down or if I have the FEL in the full up position and push the valve, the loader smashes to the ground with a bang.

I know I can turn the machine OFF and then move the valve, but there as got to be some magic trick to this

And YES I did search the forum for this, but nothing came up, that's why I put a descriptive title in this post

Cheers,
BN

Just put it up into float before the FEL gets to the ground (raise the loader a little, push lever all the way fwd and it will "float" down to the ground)

I have a small B, but I assume it is about the same. It seems to work best with kind of a quick snap forward movement. You can do it with the bucket in the air and the bucket will just gradually move down and then be in float If the bucket is on the ground, it will sometimes lift the wheels, but you will get the feel for it. I also frequently do it while moving and maybe that helps.

FYI, I asked how to even get it into float, so you're a step ahead of where I was.

You have to have your bucket right at ground level, then throw into float quickly. If you don't do it quick it will start to raise the tractor. Float relieves hydraulic pressure, having only the weight of the loader holding it down, thus "floating".
That's why if you have the bucket raised, it will drop freely!

No question is ever stupid. I went a full year before I even knew I had a "float" position.

Me too! :duh: Maybe not a year, but quite a long time...

I read about it in a thread here, and immediately went down to the driveway to check it out. It was like a tractor "easter egg".

On the Kubota you just do it quick, firm, convinced it's going to go into float mode. It's not there for those that are hesitant. Just "do it". You'll see what I mean if you'll just "shove it up". Bucket up, down or anywhere will do it if you just shove it all the way forward. If it doesn't your being to hesitant or yours is tore up. If your tractor is lifting off the ground your shoving to slow/easy/hesitant. Get my point, just "do it".

One smooth, quick movement through "down" into "float". If it's lifting the front end, you are moving the control way too slow. Do not pause, just do it!

You just rest the heel of your palm on the joystick, mutter "Git 'er done!" and slap the lever gently upward into float mode. You're through the "down" position quickly. Well, that's the way I do it..

"slap" or "snap" it into float. When either of mine are empty and raised several feet above the ground and I snap it into float they just drop gradually.
