Not sure where to post this as I don't know if forks are considered attachments, tools or other....
But, can someone recommend some FEL forks to me and where to purchase them? Search has yielded too many posts and I haven't been able to narrow down what I'm looking for.
I remember seeing some advertised on one of the pages here, but can't seem to find that either.

Thanks

I have been looking too. The two I was looking at were Paynes that screw down to the front of the bucket and then there are several on ebay that use the chains.

Ebay FEL forks

Paynes medium duty FEL forks

Which kind has everybody had the best luck with?

My quick attach for the bucket has a bar that runs along the back of the bucket and I am concerned that the chain that the chain forks use could bend this after being tightened?

Thanks for any input.

When I bought my tractor I found that forks were available through MF, but were the most expensive FEL attachment, I believe nearly 1k. I located and bought the forks and mast off a junked forklift and with a friend fabricated the hookup to match my quick-attach. Ended up costing me less than half of the MF price.

I purchased Paynes med duty forks last fall. The screw down clamp works fine. I'm sold on em. They make moving stuff that won't fit in the FEL so much easier.
I also got one of Paynes clamp on 2" ball hitch. I can move trailers around with ease. I have to position a few of em in my pole building and doing it with the tractor is mucho easier than doing it with my truck.

Moon, I did exactly the same thing, purchased the Paynes forks and ball hitch. They both work terrific, especially the ball hitch, I have a really tight spot in the garage where the boat goes and this makes it a snap. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

That was the ad I used to see, for Paynes. They sure look like they would do the job and are quality made, but now I realize why people make their own. They're a bit more than I was expecting.

Thanks for the link and info guys, I'll save it just in case.

Whoops ....my memory told me I got the medium duty forks from paynes, but it was wrong.
In checking the link I actually got the light duty forks. 35"s long. For my L3010 they are about the right size ...and yeah, i guess they are kind of expensive ($290) but they are worth it. They are extremely well made.

I'm saving now for a tooth bar. That'll be my next addtion to the family.

I attended a farm show yesterday and saw some pallet forks for FEL. Price didn't look that bad $250 for the pair that will lift 750 lbs. They used binder chains to secure them to the bucket.

They are located in Urbana, IL.

I have a set of Paynes forks, and like them. Being screw ons, they are infinitely adjustable. They take up no storage space when not in use.

The disadvantage is poor visibility from the seat of my JD 855. The bucket obstructs the view.

Next year, I may get around to building a set that will QD in place of the bucket.

I have the "light" duty Payne forks and they easily handle as much as the FEL on my B7800 can lift.

I used them last summer to unload from an 18-wheeler the pallet containing my 3pt chipper/shredder, which weighed about 900#.

This fall I unloaded the pallets with all the components of my 24'x26' Clearspan barn. The one with the steel pipes weighed about 1100# and that was about the limit of what my FEL could handle. No problem for the pallet forks.

BTW, when you are handling a real heavy load, and want to reinforce your FEL, you can put a toothbar on the FEL and the pallet forks will clamp on over it.
