The way that is plumbed, it is critical that you install a feedback loop between those two couplers if the loader is ever off the tractor. These hydraulic pumps can't stand to run deadheaded even for a moment. The fluid has to go somewhere or else something breaks.

Another poster recently learned this when he sheared the hydraulic pump's drive key which fortunately is the only inexpensive component. Others haven't been so lucky.

Yes sir, i have another (short)line w/ Q Cs on it for that reason. However, if i have to work on motor is the only time loader gets removed. I keep an eye on it all the time, might tack a piece of metal under it for safety reasons. I mostly bush hog and push some small underbrush around, spread gravel etc.. nothing to extreme. P/u welder, maybe p/u lawnmower to change blades etc.. just would like to add gauge to keep an eye on the pressure going to lift, etc.. Thanks Jim

Can i add another valve from the p/b port, to run a grappler set-up? Thanks

Can i add another valve from the p/b port, to run a grappler set-up? Thanks

yep..That's how my grapple is set up..I used a prince valve on mine ...
There is also another set up you can use.. It's an electric valve option ,that allows you to use a button on your current valve / joy stick. Push the button, and it uses the bucket curl / dump function to operate /Open / close the grapple

Also, was looking at a Prince RD2500 valve for grappler. Would this work? It offers spring centered or 3-position, which one would be better. Thanx for the input

I don't know if the valve you are referencing will work or not.. I used prince MB115C. The PB on my loader valve powers my grapple valve..... I used the PB off the grapple valve to provide hydraulics to my 3 point..

This isn't my pic but it's about the same http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/files/yanmar/229200d1315749507-adding-grapple-008-jpg

I couldn't locate my exact thread with pics

Maybe this thread? http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/yanmar/220534-grappel-update-thumb.html?highlight=

Go to your profile and search under "find latest started threads". That search feature doesn't work well for me either.

I've found some on the internet, but they seem to be the HeavyDuty ones. I will mic/meas. my bucket thickness, to put the bolt-on type on(but weld them. Ken, on your grappler build i see you have the size that i am looking for. Where did you find yours, and what size are they 2"x 4.5"? Thanks Jim

If you are talking about the tooth bar,,I had Fredricks order it when they installed the loader... It just slides in ,and blots to the sides of the bucket..Remove 2 bolts, and it slides right off... I take mine off sometimes ,depending on the work I'm doing

Not sure how far they are spaced.. I can get a measurement if you need it,but I think it's pretty much a standard

I have the Prince LVR1GB5AB6(2-spool,14 gpm, open center)Valve for loader. Surplus Ctr. has the Prince MB Series (item# 9-7860) compact 8 gpm, Open ctr. convertible to PB or closed ctr. will this be a good choice for the grappler? I can return from that to the 3pt. Also, found a 5pc. set of weld-on teeth (Ebay) from Titan Attachments in Tenn. for $80 shipped, thinking about ordering and adding to flat bar for 48" bucket. Any feed back, thanks Jim

looks like the same valve I used.. different ## You can buy it here Prince MB11B5C1 Directional Control Valve Monoblock Cast Iron 1 Spool 4 3 8 | eBay for $7.00 more dollars and get shipping included

I can't answer your tooth bar question.. these Heavy Duty Weld on Bucket Tooth Bucket Teeth Toothbar Tooth Tooth Bar Teeth | eBay are used on my tooth bar

Do you intend to use a bucket grapple /thumb like I installed ? If so, You'll need to reinforce the top & back of your bucket.. If not,,The clamping force will bend the top & back your bucket

Yes Sir, on the reinforcement top/btm.. The teeth i am looking at are heat treated and tempered steel. JD style weld-on adapter, teeth and adapter are 12"long fits most bucket lips up 1.5" thick. The ideals a man can get from this site, is unlimited. Going to use bucket w/teeth around here to get land level and such, while attempting to make the Grappler attachment in spare time. Trying to get all info. i can, your ideal i like. Trying to save all the directions from your build to build one similar, not too heavy and strong. The teeth, adapter, pin alone weigh 35.5 lbs. Hope you don't mind. Thanks Jim.
