Great news for you and a nice cheap/quick fix.
In my situation - not so good as it is very evident the rods are bent. One way I could get some function was to go and try to lift something heavy, like my old swather, and use that weight pushing down on my forks to "help" the rods past the bent section. Not handy but gets one by on a Sunday trying to do demolition of a burned down barn.
Will be trying the "straightening technique" mentioned in the thread I linked to. Not much to lose I don't think.
