Just needing to do a quick check. I believe the general consensus is that you cannot put a FEL on a 2WD Jinma. Correct? A local guy has a 2005 with 36hrs on it cheap. However, I will want to put a loader on whatever I get once I have more cash. Keep looking?

Thanks in advance,
Mike

No reason in the world why you can't put a FEL on a 20hp 2wd Jinma. But "cheap" is relative. Do you realize that you can buy a new JM200 for $4000, or a new FT250 for $4500? How much is a warranty worth to you?

It is not recommended to put a frontendloader on a 20hp 2-wheel drive,I don't know of any dealer that will. Not to say (you )can't.There are great deals out there on 25hp 4 x 4 tractors that you can add a loader to later on,
My advise is to keep looking.

Mike,
A loader on a small 2wd tractor is less than ideal and almost useless without power steering. Homier has sold many of their turf tire 20HP 2wd tractors with loaders. They have power steering and a heavier front axle than thier standard tractor, but turf tires on a 2wd tractor again, is less than ideal. I would suggest you find a 4 wd tractor with power steering if you plan to add a loader in the future.

Permit me then to qualify my original reply: No reason in the world why you can't put a FEL on a 20hp 2wd Jinma with the right front tires. Power steering helps too. But "cheap" is relative. Do you realize that you can buy a new JM200 for $4000, or a new FT250 for $4500? Both typically come with turf tires and power steering, but you should switch to 6- or 8-ply sidewalls up front for FEL work. Extra rear ballast doesn't hurt either.

Thanks guys, that's what I thought but wanted to check. Is it then the weight difference (and perhaps a stronger axle) that allows me to use a FEL on my 8n (no power steering) without issue but not on a Jinma?

Thanks again,
Mike

I had a 800 series ford with FEL and no power steering. It was the most mirsable thing to operate and maintain. Much work on steering box and front spindle issues. With bucket of dirt or whatever all I could do is go straight ahead or straight back. Sold the tractor and never looked back. I now own a JM354 Jinma with power steering and NO FEL. I use a box blade to move dirt around and am quite content with it. I see a lot of front end repair issuses with any tractors with added FEL's. Maybe a Case CK series tractor was designed for FEL use. The added FEL's on most compact tractors need to be operated carefully to avoid disaster. bjr

I also have a JM200LE with power steering. I am hearing I can't use a 3 PT. hitch Backhoe either. I can understand the FEL putting too much weight on the front end, but I don't follow the Backhoe being a problem.

The backhoe is very heavy, more than the 3 point on a 200 jinma can lift. also you dont want a backhoe on a tracto that does not have a loader, you need the loader to help stablilze and to keep the font end closer to mother earth. also the loader is handy to back fill after you dig with the hoe. If you do put a hoe on this tractor, use a subframe. I wont say it cant be done, (I will say shouldn't). After all I have seen a backhoe that pulls itself along the ground that doesnt even attach to a tractor. Then again, never heard of anyone using one, don't think I would want to try it.

Do not put a loader on a 2WD Jinma. The factory does not support the configuration. 2WD row tractors are not designed to support weight on
the front end. They are just designed to pull. Aside from having no
traction in reverse the front end is the weakest point here and is likely to collapse under a heavy load in the bucket.
