FEL owners - what size bucket?

/ FEL owners - what size bucket? #21
If you are working in hard soil it can be a benefit to have a smaller bucket. The longer the cutting edge the less pressure per inch of edge. I opted for a 60" bucket vs. 72" as I find it cuts the clay around here a little better. There is a trade vs. capacity - but so far that hasn't been a big issue.

Thanks everybody. Now I know what to look for when I talk to them.

Recommend you pay attention to the bucket construction too. If the dealer offers you a deal on a heavy duty bucket (one with reinforced lower lip, top edge, side walls, etc) go for it !! Unless you committ your work to only moving bark, sand, and other light fare, you will eventually bend most of the above parts of the bucket. You will try moving big rocks, push out tree stumps, and other macho jobs, and your bucket will bend and distort, and you will wish for the h.d. version.
thank me later. jim.
