A question for you pneumatic engineers about my FEL. On my roll function there seems to be some lag when working my bucket from a lifting action to a downward action such as back blading. I have to hold the dump, stick out, until the the cylinders "firm" up to perform an action such as backblading. I don't know if that is normal function of front end loaders or not. I thought there might be some air trapped in the system but it is not like the loader is spongy. Any replies would be helpful. :)

When ever I remove my loader, such as for mowing, I always cycle it through the full range of motion several times to remove any air that might have entered the system. If I don't do this my curl function in particular has a bit of slop in it.

If you are dumping a loaded bucket then back drag it when you notice this, it is the weight in bucket is pulling the rod out faster than the valve can fill the base end of the cylinder. Contruction type loaders (skid-steers, TLB, etc) have anti-cavitaion valves in the circuit to syphon some oil from the return circuit to help fill the base of the cylinder when this happens, but these small tractor loaders do not have that.

Do a search for the term "regen", lot's of reading and should answer your question.
