I've found that there's more than one "FedEx".

FedEx Red is the overnight/next day service and I've found them to be very reliable to my semi-rural area. They are operated by FedEx and have all the state-of-the-art GPS, sattelite tracking, etc.

FedEx Green - is the ground transport service and I've found them to be only semi-reliable to my area. They are "Joe Anybody-with-a-van" who gets a franchise/contract with FedEx to deliver packages. They almost surely don't have GPS, may or may not have a map and probably do not know the area. Almost half the time I get a card in the mail saying "We could not find your address, please call us and give us directions and we'll try to deliver your package again." (I guess their drivers don't have cell phones either.)

For us, UPS ground has been totally reliable.

Just my experience. Probably depends alot on the area and whoever gets the FedEx Red contract in your area.

I HATE FedEx in my area. They refuse to leave a package if no one is home even after signing the release form that they stick on your door. They refuse to deliver to my work one mile up the street. They come at the same time every day even though they KNOW no one was home the last two times they tried. Once they try delivery on a day they refuse to come back later and try again. And then on two occassions they didn't find anybody home so they went to my next door neighbor and delivered it to them! Good thing I get along with my neighbor!

I hate using anything but FEDEX. They are the only one I can really count on except UPS 2nd day air.

What brand / model of toothbar did you get and where did you get it? I have not had much luck finding something to fit my TC33D / 7308 / 60" super heavy duty. Thanks.

I agree. Fed-X has always come through for me, but UPS is a PITA.

I get 10 or more item shipper through UPS each week. Some of them Saturday deliveries

FedEx will come to my place with a package that does not require a signature (box checked). But will not leave it. The one that really makes me mad is a Next Day Saturday delivery that they did not leave. Then try to deliver it on Monday and expect to get paid the extra charge for the Saturday delivery. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif
The Saturday deliveries usually have parts to repair a machine for a customer.
When I’m having something shipped to me. I ask that only UPS or USPS (if I’m not in a hurry) be used to ship a package. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif
UPS has a different class of delivery for businesses and homes.

I am about to complete my 25th year with FedEx. We will do anything and everything to make the customer happy. Please let me know your postal code and any other info that you feel comfortable passing on I will pass on the issues to the appropriate people.

FedEx green is indeed composed of independent contractors. The service provided by these contractors is expected to be up the standards of the other dvisions of FedEx. Subpar service reflects on the whole organization and will NOT be tolerated. It will be fixed as soon as I get some data as to what is exactly happening.

Let me know and it will get fixed.

I accept your challange..... here is the tracking number and if you can locate this package and have it delivered to me, I will be forever grateful. It is a large parcel.. about 4' long and 2 1/2' high, by about 8" - 12" wide..... FedEx tracking #306213610000327. It has been lost for 3 weeks now..... thanks

Just got off the phone with Lisa in the Hartford hub. What we are thinking right now is that the shipping label may have been removed from the package somehow. Lisa is checking the overgoods (like lost and found) area and will return my call. I gave her the deminsions of the package and told her what it was and what it should look like. When I hear from her, I'll post again.
