In 1978 the government declared paint should be edible. Get the lead out so it won't stick; take the mercury out so it will mildew.
I had an employee who also painted. He used Sherwin Williams as his supplier. He advised priming with oil and top coating with latex because his supplier had told him that the government was changing the rules so often that the oil paint formulas were all experimental.
