Hello,

I live in Belgium and I bought a 2 furrow Ferguson plough. A friend of mine told me that it isn't a plough that was build in the UK but in the US, could anyone confirm this? This is a picture of the same type of plough I have.

Greetings Henry. I found this thread in the archives here. It may help you identify your plow.

Hello,

The plow on the tread looks similar but I wondered if the plough on the picture I posted was manufactured in the US? Does anyone know what is written on that little plate between the two furrows?

Kind regards,

Henry George

Hi Henry,
I got a message that someone needed some info on a Ferguson AO plow. To answer you question, if the plow is an AO plow, it is made in the U.S.. If it has an AE designation it should have been made in England. Im not sure that the name plate on mine is readable any more, but I will check when I get home today and let you know.

These plows are hard (if not impossible) to find parts for in the US. Used to be you could get parts from Sweigard Brothers in Halifax, Pennsylvania, they were a New Holland dealer that had a good collection of plow parts, but I'm not sure they are in business any more.

I included a couple of links below with some Ferguson Plow info that might help you.

Hello,

Thank you for the links I think it is an AO plough but it is difficult to say. If you could tell me what's written on the plate that would be fantastic!
I took a picture of my plow maybe it is clearer to identify it.

Sorry to say it Henry, but the plate on my plow is in such bad shape it is impossible to read. I did find a link to Craigslist ad that has the exact same plow as mine. One of the pictures included is a close up of the ID plate. What is left of mine looks just like this one.

For what it is worth, the picture you posted is the same plow as mine.

Hello,

Thanks for your help, the plow on the link is the same as mine. Is your plow an AO 28 or is there a more specific designation for it?
I wondred if these plows were built in Detroit at the Ferguson factory or were they made by subcontractors like in the UK?

Thanks again!

Hi Henry
I think mine is a 14 AO 28. I believe that they are built in Detroit.
