Ferguson Tractor

It look like a TO 20 or it could be a TE 20. I have a TE 20 paid 500.00 for it and it had been sitting about 15 years. I had to rewire it and add antifreeze to it as the radiator had been drained. I put a battery in it and it rolled ove a few times and started right up. I changed all the fluids in it and have been using it since. Only money I had to put in it was a new water pump. The TO series was built in the USA and had a delco starter and dis. The TE was built in England and Has a Luscas electrical system. Mine starts up below zezo and it is fun to drive. Ivan

I have a question for restoration guys. It concerns a ferguson TO20, thats why I am asking here. My tractor has good looking sheet metal (well, mostly, the grills a little gimped up, but it shouldn't be to bad), therefore, I am considering doing a restore. First off, I am trying to find factory paint color. All the pictures I have seen show completely gray machines, but mine has red fenders and hood. Complete opposite of an 8N, It is a To20 with a serial #49XXX, which I believe makes it a '51 or '53 That is kinda throwing me, though for now I just want the drivetrain color. I have found a few companies that had what they indicated was a macthing Ferguson gray, but they sounded sketchy to me. One site said I could use Rustoleum #975, that that would match. Restorer, what do you have to say?

damanishere I believe that the tractor has probably been repainted to look like a Ferguson 35. From the serial number 49xxx I think it would be a 1951 as you stated. The paint scheme is all Grey.
As for paint Tractor supply has the Valspar restoration series paint which is a automotive grade with a shiny finish and good resistance to fading . On my Case Sc it has the restoration quality paint and it has a good gloss finish.

You can take a look at the paint breakdown here.

Thanks for the info. That makes an easier paint, but a rather dull looking tractor:( How many gallons of paint will I need if a good prep job is done?
