1975lb at pivot at full reach so you could probably go 1500 without to much trouble.

Those are some big bales at 2000lb. If he is feeding out of his pickup by hand, I would guess no more than a 900.

Well I never really plan on putting up hay myself, in the end it costs quite a bit and for only a few more a bale I can buy, so that won't be a problem. I would guess the bales I have now are close to 1500 lbs, last winter I had smaller (4x5) bales that I was able to roll out and feed manually (truck was out of commision for awhile); but with these bales I have a **** of a time rolling them, especially when wet. I might be able to sacrifice 4wd to go up to the 2wd 5500 for 295, which would of course cause some more headaches with the chance of getting stuck, but I'm used to headaches. /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

I'll prob take the hour and a half drive to the dealer pretty soon and see what I can learn there. Thanks again.

Test drive the 3525 - it ought to do all you need.

The 3525 is a little bit stouter than the 3510 weighing in at 4387#, and lifting 3525# at the rear and 2500# to full height, in the front. Yes, you would lose the 4WD and a few goodies, but the 3525 has more low end torq than the 3510. They are both good tractors. Also the loaders will lift more than the rated figure, just not to full height. Maybe you don't need to lift them to full height. See if your dealer will let you try lifting them before you buy.

If you want the 4wd and are only moving one bale at a time, get the 3510 and use a spear on the 3pt hitch. You dont need one on the loader, just have to make 2 trips if you need 2 bales.
