Have you looked at prices for what should be "cheap" Jeep's lately? even old squarekee's aren't cheap anymore unless you stumble on someone that hasn't looked on craigslist or facebook marketplace in half a decade... Anymore you have to be in the right place at the right time or know how to fix something to get a good deal...

pretty much goes for ALL used vehicles

We had a '47 Dodge pickup on the farm with the driver's side door removed. Much handier getting in and out of when fixing fence.

Without a door, what kept you from falling out, bouncing through the rough areas?

I've been eyeing FB and CL for cheap field "cars" for awhile. Anything decent and running, is a grand at least.

No seatbelt so just hang on to the steering wheel. I tried scaring my little brother one day by driving too close to a pond and got sucked into the mud. Had to get out the other door and walk home. :)

Thats whats great about older Jeeps. Take doors off and throw them in a corner. Put a little chain with a clip across opening if you’re a fraidy cat :ROFLMAO:

Jump in and out quickly. Hit the road and do 55 if needed. Heat and maybe AC, good seats. 1/2 the price of a side by side.

Jump in and out quickly. Hit the road and do 55 if needed. Heat and maybe AC, good seats. 1/2 the price of a side by side.
I never understood the popularity of the side-by-sides when beater Jeeps were plentiful, and you could plate it for a streetable if needed. Originally, the side-by-sides weren’t too expensive. But now, yikes!

I also always said it for the price of a side by side I would buy a Jeep any day instead, put big tires on, a lift and a winch and you can go on the road and further then any side by side can go in the mud.

I am surprised how tightly the Durango corners. I have one trail section, where a bridge over a creek and a culvert over a deep ditch, are quite close.

I couldn’t come close to making that turn, with my old standard cab, 8 ft bed Silverado pickup let alone my newer one with an extended cab. That always forced me to take the long route back to the shooting range.

The Durango makes that tight turn, and stays on the narrow culvert, with no trouble. It will be a lot handier for target practice, and it will be great not having to worry about paint scratches.

my new field truck …1992 jeep … I drove it around all day today it was lots a fun i always wanted one of these.
