I was going to ask the size of your cutter but I now see you stated it is a 48" cut...What is the required PTO horsepower?

The woods specs say 15-50 Tractor HP. Don't know if that is PTO or Gross. I have 18.5 gross, 14.5 PTO. I have to slow down in really thick grass. Otherwise it handles it just fine. I think your 4110 should do just fine with a 48" cutter.

whatz a woods cost i've narrowed it down i think the lx4-6 are woods since they build the jd frontier line up a new lx4 -5 was 1100-1200 w/o slip clutch. looks like yours has rubber saftey vs chains was that an option? Loved you article..

I have a MMM (finish) and have topped off many a rock sticking up from the ground, as well as spitting out loose rocks. I used it to cut down fields, saplings, etc. Have had it/used it for three summers now and have never sharpened the blades and it still gives me an excellent cut.

It was $938 w/o slip clutch (that adds ~$70). Chains added ~$200. The rubber worked well for the field grass. Time will tell if it will hold up. If not, chains it is.

I hit a brick on my 6' finish mower it took a good bit out of the blade 2 holes about 1/2" x 1/4" i changed blades i figured it thowed the blades out of balance.
