Let's define kits. You can get the full blown kit with Reamer, Push needle, plugs ans GLUE. You can also get replacement plugs and varrious tools.

I bought a "kit" at NAPA that had the reamer, pusher, and wormy plugs. Tools had tiny, screwdriver-like handles. Never did get a plug to stay.

Then I bought a DIFFERENT kit at Knecht's which had tools with t-handles, wormy plugs, and also a tube of patch cement. Using the glue as lubricant during both the reaming and insertion made the job easy despite the fact I was going clear through an R4 lug. This kit was made by Monkey Grip.

When you/they put in the tube, finally, try to knife off the plug(s) sticking in so they don't abrade the tube. Also, you should be able to tell the difference between a tubed tire and tubeless by the valve

this one is a tractor tubeless. It has a second "cap" that allows you to run in the liquid without going through the Schrader valve. Tubed tires usually you just see the rubber tube.

Well, JimmySisson, I wish it was as you say -- and I wish that tubes had been used. But I bought the tractor in a part of California where freezing is not an issue, and neither are hills. The dealer had not filled a tire before when freezing might be an issue. Their local tire place did the job though. Not, apparently, up to standards for hill country. For now, I'm pleased as punch that my tire is fixed, and I'm saving my money for a good set of chains.
