How do you tell how much rimguard is inside?
BTW, I run my rear tires at about half - sometimes less - than the recommended pressure in order to enjoy a softer ride. Been doing that 40+ years on half a dozen tractors - two with 4wd turfs.

I can always see where my fill line is on a humid day after a cool night by the condensation that forms on the rim outside where the fluid lies. Similar to a cold glass of water...wherever the moisture stops is where the fluid level is...I never really thought about it, but one of those magnetic color changing propane tank gauges could probably be stuck on the inside of the rim to do the same thing...

Hmmm. I see the same line, but on the tire. In the fall when the air temps are warmer than the fluid in the tire, or the reverse. At least we have a little bit of humidity in the air then. Outside humidity is 10% right now.

Park in the sun. Feel for the temperature change.

Does anyone know if the tire pressure should be different when they are loaded vs. when they are unloaded?
PSI is the same for tires with liquid or without. Adding water doesn't make the amount of support on the tire pressure go up or down, it is still pounds per square inch.
75% fill or put the valve stem at 12 O'clock and fill till water is covered stem. Drain out any water above the stem (with tractor supported on blocks so no weight is on the tire) then adjust the air pressure as needed for your tire. Normally this is around 12 PSI for most tires. It could go up a bit for smaller tires, but I would start with that pressure. Then note how much tread is in ground contact. You want to get all or most all of the tread in contact with the ground for best traction and smoothest ride.

What a nightmare !!!!!!!!!!!!! When I parked the new 2650 in the garage I could tell something was wrong as it was lop sided . To make a long story short they filled the tires full of rim guard right to the top I guess and then tried to put air in them which they found some room somewhere . Evidently they couldn't measure the air pressure due to all the rim guard so they just put the air to them anyways . I jacked the tractor up to take any pressure off the tires and took out the valve stems and air blew out with rimguard some 6 ft. . It went all over the gravel drive untill I could get a pail under it to catch some of it . I caught about 3 gal. or more from the two tires and have no idea how much I missed. This was not a new dealership , you just have to wonder how many other tractors they have sent out like this . I kept thinking this tractor rides like a buckboard, now I know why .

Did you have the valve stem at the top?

Did you have the valve stem at the top?

Yes I did have the valve stem at the top but they had so much pressure in the tires it went all over my pants, shirt and shoes trying to catch some of it before it all went on the driveway . Fortunately it washes off quite easily .

Ha - somewhat of an exciting and hilarious adventure. Lucky none of the neighbors saw you - you might have ended explaining the episode to paramedics. The rim guard in my tires looks a lot like blood.

I understand that rim guard is stinky too.

The rim guard in my tires doesn't have much smell - maybe a little like rubber tire - but its sure sticky. First time I checked tire pressure - I forgot to "clear the stem" and got some on me. It was kind of a shock - looked and felt just like blood and its sticky.

My first thought - what the h3ll did they put in these tires!!
