In No. VA, road diesel ranges right now from $3.88 at Sam's Club to $4.10 at branded stations. 87 octane runs from $3.32 to $3.54 at Costco or Sam's Club within a 25 mile radius, all the way up to $3.84 at branded stations.

A bit off topic, but if you have a smart phone, be sure to download the free Gas Buddy app. Amazing tool that uses crowd-sourcing for its data input. Punch in a town and it gives you the fuel prices as the local stations, as reported and confirmed by other users, usually within the last few minutes. If you enable its GPS feature, it shows the local prices wherever you happen to be at the time. Tap the particular station and it uses Google Maps to give you navigation directions.

Sam's Club now offers a Master Card that gives 5% cash-back on every gallon of fuel anywhere in the U.S. (not just Sam's Club), excluding Costco and other competing warehouse-club vendors. Costco has a similar deal with AmEx, but the cash-back is 3%.

I don't use off road diesel. I get on road as cheap as or cheaper in Ohio and I scrapped my bulk tank years ago. I just fill my 100 gallon in bed pickup truck tank. Keeping fuel, especially diesel and unleaded gasoline is asking for trouble today. ULSD grows algae if it sits) and unleaded regular grows water... neither I want. The answer for both is regulat turnover.

I use religiously, CAT additive in my diesel and Marine Stabil in my gasoline and far as gasoline, I only buy premium unleaded, preferrably BP for the lawnmowers, tillers and chainsaws.

I quit buying any motor fuel in Michigan or lubricants in general. Cheaper in Ohio.

I use additives in both tanks,Marine stabil in the gas tank and Opti-lube winter additive in the diesel.

Filled up my tractor today with road fuel at only 4.62 per gallon. What happened to all the oil in the Baken oil fields. Oh, that's right, they're exporting it all to other countries..........................

87 octane gas is $3.83 and on-road diesel is $4.10. That's in Spokane, WA. Wow - I KNOW $4.10 is high for on-road diesel but $4.62 is outrageous.

On-road here was $3.73 when I drove by the local station yesterday.

I have not had any problems with ULSD. I have a 200 gallon plastic tank in the barn and a Goldenrod water/particulate filter on the pump. The filter hasn't been changed in 5 years. I only use additives on the older tractors (just outboard motor mix). There had never been any water show up in the sediment bowls on the equipment.

Last month I paid $3.48/gallon for 250 gallons of off road diesel.
