Who thinks up these newfangled ideas and why, what was wrong with having a gas cap?

My problems with gas caps were solved when they put leashes on them.

Laughing at myself here. I had never herd of a capless fuel filler and thought all you guys were just cracking jokes and having a good time. It turns out that Mrs.tiller's 2017 Malibu has one also!
She bought it 16 months ago and I have never put gas in it for her.

Once you get used to a capless vehicle, you are annoyed when you have to unscrew a fuel cap on another one. :laughing: I doubted whether they can keep out dust and dirt, but the rubber seal around the outer fuel door really does keep the inside clean. And the safety lock/door inside the neck prevents someone from dumping water or other crap in your tank.
