Filling up modern cars from a fuel can.

I usually use Sea Foam fuel treatment....but the can won't work on my cap less vehicles gas tank. So....I found that the Lucas Fuel additive bottle is a perfect fit. Just cut off the bottom of the bottle and it turns into a perfect funnel that goes into the fuel neck of capless tanks. Lets me continue to use the Sea Foam product .

Our cars both have one of those funnels, along with the tire tools. I've never used one, and hope I never will.:laughing:

Any new vehicle with a capless system should come with the emergency funnel. It's usually stashed with the spare tire/tools.

Our SUV's have them and I don't think highly of them. The wife old SUV had the same and it would get dirty and not seal throwing a code and light on the dash. Living on a dirt road and age this started happening with some regularity, WD40 and working it with that funnel was a YouTube video fix. Disassembly and replacement was the final solution.

No one wants to dig it out of the trunk or sidewall or wherever it is. It's easier and less aggravation to just buy a 2nd one and hang it on the garage wall to use when you want to rotate your can(s) of gasoline out for fresh gas and use up the old in the car or truck.

Some people buy a lockable plug to install in a cap-less vehicle and it keeps the dust/dirt out too.

Laughing at myself here. I had never herd of a capless fuel filler and thought all you guys were just cracking jokes and having a good time. It turns out that Mrs.tiller's 2017 Malibu has one also!
She bought it 16 months ago and I have never put gas in it for her.

Who thinks up these newfangled ideas and why, what was wrong with having a gas cap?
