Just food for thought, I'd pay a little extra if I could buy from a station that would filter their fuel. It just makes sense to me that it'd make a lot more sense to filter the fuel BEFORE it's put in the tank! I often fill at our local Beacon truck stop and it looks to me that a filter could easily be clamped on the nozzle especially because of the beefy keeper ring near the end. Things that make you go "hmmm..."

Most, if not all, fuel pumps have a spin on filter just before the fuel delivery hose. Often times it is hidden inside the cabinet.

When I owned my station back in the mid-late 90's my diesel pump had an internal spin on filter similar to an auto oil filter. However, in the two years I owned the station it was never changed and I pumped 10,000 to 15,000 gallons per month.

I have no idea. My equipment was leased from a distrubutor and they were responsible for all maintenance. Since I never had problems with that particular pump they never did anything. Keeps their cost down I guess. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

Some filters are gutted to speed up flow. Most will be very coarse anyhow. I still hope to add my own storage tank so I can filter mine before it hits the tank. May even do a recirc thing with a small pump...
