I hedge my bets by having machines from both ends.. old and new. All are just as 'real'.

I probably have similar amounts of tractor time on my antiques as I do my new units.

That is the main reason I felt start with the 8n and after a couple of years sell it at no loss and then have a better idea of what hp is needed. If getting a newer machine it seams going a little bigger from the start is usually not bad advice...most of the time /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif
</font><font color="blue" class="small">( I would stay away from anything that doesnt have 4 wd, burn Diesel, have R4 tires, and lots of hydraulic ability a fast pump, and safe for any one thats not a mechanic to operate. )</font>
Boy I cannot believe what I have accomplished with my gas burning, 2wd REAL tractor with ag tires.
