i finally changed all the fluids in my tractor yesterday and today.
i have owned a few tractors before and have always changed the oil but thats about it.when i got my farm pro 2425 i had some issues with it so i found this site and have asked alot and done some reading.
so i decided after putting it off for too long i would do it this weekend and i followed the instructions Greg posted and have all new fluids in my tractor now
thanks to everyone who has posted help on here for people like me who have not near enough motivation when it comes to things like this

Glad you got it done. I guess you did the front axle, gear box, hydraulics, and engine oil. Did you do the injector pump oil? Also, what did the stuff look like and smell like that you took out of it? Usually its some nasty stuff and the injector pump oil will have a fuel smell.

yup did them all
hydro oil was dark but smelled ok
gearbox and front axle was really thick and brown
the injector didnt seem at all bad
it looked to me kinda like clear air tool oil maybe but i couldnt smell any diesel
rather than trying to put the gearbox oil in thru the fill hole i took the front cover off and fill thru there and yes i let it settle till it was all even.
i did not change the oil cause i changed it recently

You cannot tell the condition of ANY oil purely by the smell (unless it is contaminated with diesel fuel, which then, would be obvious). If in doubt about an oil have an analysis performed. Smell cannot detect coolant, soot, or metals.

Either way, your tractor is 100 times better off and happier with nice clean fluids in it.

Good job.
