Ok, I can see how that works now. Wonder how that slid off??
The bolt either sheared off, or it got pushed up over the the splines on your shaft. If a couple of the splines are rounded, you may be able to turn your slipclutch to a different spot on the shaft so the perpendicular bolt holds it together. If this can't be done, the shaft in the shredder will need replaced.

Now that I can easily see how the two bolts holding the female portion of the attachment together ride in the grooves of the male shaft I am starting to wonder if this was assembled properly in the first place. There apperars to be NO damage to the splines of the gear box shaft and I cannot see how this could have come apart if the bolts were truly in the grooves. I wonder if the bolts were actually at the very end of the shaft?

Anything is possible, but highly doubtful as you used it for an hour several months back. It should have come apart at that time.

But, pull the bolt out of the yellow female piece, and see if there are marks on it. That bolt is very soft, it is designed to get torn up in this type of situation.

And don't forget to pull the black cover off to check for damage at the gearbox, and check the tractor for damage at the PTO cover.

I think possibly the reason it did not come apart then was because my drive line was too long and kept it pushed on during use.
