It seemed like it took forever, but I finally got my TN delivered today. I originally ordered a TN65 with R4's, 16x16 power shuttle, Bradco 609 backhoe, and 32 MSL loader - but when it arrived at the dealer, we realized that NH had messed up the order and didn't deliver what I wanted (wrong transmission). To complicate things, the TN65 was discontinued right after the final build-run that mine went through (in January) and it looked like it was going to take forever to get a new order delivered.
The dealer just happened to have another tractor on the lot that someone else had ordered and then backed out on, and he wanted to get rid of it because it was racking up interest payments. Best of all, it was equipped exactly the way I ordered my TN65. So, for about the same price as I was going to pay for the TN65 described above, I ended up getting this:
TN70S with cab
R4 Tires
16x16 PowerShuttle Trans
33 MSL
Bradco 611 backhoe
and some other things like front fenders and the air-ride seat.
I didn't really want the SuperSteer, cab, fenders/air-seat, or turbocharger - but I figured that, for the same price as the TN65, I really couldn't go wrong with them since they were basicallly thrown into the deal to make things right.
I've been out playing with the new rig today, and I've got to say that it is a great machine. I didn't think I wanted a cab, but it sure is nice to have it! Same goes for the SuperSteer - I can get into and out of places that I thought only a true compact would get. There is a little bit of adverse-swing to the loader when I steer, but I got used to it after about ten minutes.
I'll post some pictures this weekend. The Bradco 611 backhoe looks really good on the tractor, and fits pretty well overall. The subframe eats up more ground clearance than I thought it would, but I'll see whether it causes any problems or not. After a few minutes of digging holes with it, it's clear that it is a very good unit - very nice control feel, smooth modulation, and quite precise. It also feels like it could dig through solid rock.
